Guided bike tour hosted by a local
What you'll do
Meet Tom in the heart of the old university, pick your bike, and roll out through streets most visitors only ever see on foot. This is Cambridge the way a local rides it — the famous colleges, yes, but also the quiet riverside and the water meadows out at Grantchester where the city melts into countryside. You'll get the stories behind the stones — not dates read off a clipboard — and a pace relaxed enough to take it all in.
-
King's ParadeMeet by King's College Chapel and set off through the old university core.
-
The BacksThe green ribbon behind the colleges, with the Cam and its punts alongside.
-
The River Cam towpathOut of the centre onto the water's edge — flat, quiet and green all the way.
-
Grantchester MeadowsThe famous water meadows, a village pub, and a tea garden for a stop.
-
Back via NewnhamA different, leafy route home, finishing where the ride began.
Meet your guide
"I've cycled Cambridge my whole life — to school, to work, and just to wander. I started bikesurfer because the best way to understand a city is from the saddle, with someone who actually lives there. I'll show you the landmarks, but also the corners I love that aren't in any guidebook. Come ride with me."
